Grey himself is more focused on the way Manabu feels in his arms as opposed to the apologies he's choking out. The weight of Manabu's head leaning against his chest is reassuring, but the way Manabu is shaking is less so.
He presses his arm against Manabu, silently encouraging him to rest more of his weight against Grey, and with his free hand he clumsily seeks out Manabu's so he can give it a (hopefully) reassuring squeeze.]
