and besides... acts of service are Manabu's love language; this vents out that anxious need to convey something to him through a Very Good Job, and he visibly relaxes to see eggs cooking and meat sizzling in a favorable way, even if they're spiceless.
it smells good. it makes his stomach growl.
but he's not eating until Grey's had a bite first, and that can only come after he's been served.
