[During the moment where Manabu takes in the sights Grey goes quiet, watching the expression on Manabu's face. This technically isn't the first time Manabu's been outside since he was imprisoned in the lab, but it's the first time without Manabu also being in a semi-drugged stupor. Grey thinks he has a pretty good idea of how Manabu must be feeling. The taste of freedom is a powerful one, something that can only whet the appetite for more.
Then the moment ends and Manabu takes his first step down the stairs and immediately looks terrible. Grey tenses, poised to hurry up and press a hand against Manabu or something-]
Are you-?
[-but Manabu is quick to reassure Grey so Grey relents and lets him get on with it.]
Take your time. The laundromat doesn't close until late at night.
[The trip down the stairs is much akin to when Manabu was doing his laps around the bed earlier, in that Grey spends the entire time staring at Manabu and mentally calculating how exactly he's going to break Manabu's fall when/if it happens.
Since Grey takes a step down every time Manabu does, progress for both of them is, needless to say, slow. Grey's glad for both their sakes that the stairs are behind the building, where there aren't any other people walking around to observe their descent.
Step by step... It gives Grey a little jolt when he takes the last step and feels the ground under his feet instead of another stair. Almost there!]
