gulping on bile, he moves and scours the ground, hesitating before kneeling down and collecting the gun. conventional make, old-style bullets...an antique by SDF standards and most places. but rougher planets still rely on these.
he fiddles a bit and unclips the cartridge.
the lab. they're...going to have to go back there. where else can they hide in a pinch? people will be looking for them around here. the lab's been gutted. so if there's going to be any worthwhile happenings of their efforts...then maybe, if everything really does go to shit, then the people who pick their bodies up off the pavement will investigate that lab and everything they've dug up so far.
