Manabu has a point, more than he realizes. It isn't as if Grey ever asked to be created. By comparison, being punished for the murders and other crimes he's committed feels fairer- even if he doesn't regret any of it at least those are choices he made. Emotionally, it's hard not to think of himself as an abomination, but he can understand logically that it isn't his fault.
