[In the time following his departure from Tabito and Manabu's company, the alias "Grey" has wound up sticking.
Not that everyone calls him that, he's used a few other aliases since then, but it's what he's wound up thinking of himself as. If Grey had taken the time to think about it a bit more he might have picked something with a little less connection to Rezo's name, but it's still leagues better than thinking of himself as "Rez- wait, no, just a copy." And maybe that's why he's felt significantly calmer since he left Sairaag.
By his own standards, Grey has been laudably well-behaved; sure, he's been mostly doing under-the-table psychic work, often on behalf of criminals, but! He's been trying to keep a low profile so it's usually things like clairvoyant spying rather than anything violent, and he's been making a point of not doing anything that directly impacts the galaxy railways.
It would be extremely awkward if Manabu Yuuki had to try and arrest him, after all.
He's found himself frequently thinking about Manabu, much to his annoyance. He has no serious expectations of ever seeing Manabu again, so it's simply a waste of mental bandwidth to find himself wondering what Manabu is doing right now or where he is, or to reminisince over their incredibly brief acquaintanceship. Grey can only suppose that because Manabu was the first reasonably normal person he got to know after leaving Sairaag that Manabu is going to stick out in his mind for a while.
And it's probably because of the real estate that Manabu is hogging in Grey's mind that he's been very aware of every mention of the SDF that crosses his path. He hasn't exactly been tracking the SDF's activities deliberately, but he does pay attention to the news and the SDF frequently winds up in there, even if Manabu's name in particular isn't normally dropped.
Until the day it does.

[It's taken several weeks of investigating, but Grey has been able to track down The Huntress's client, a Dr. Parish and associates. It must be a small galaxy, because Dr. Parish is someone Grey knows. Sort of.
Rather, Dr. Parish was a colleague of Rezo's who collaborated with the man on chimera research (and other unsavory things) in the past. Not only that, the man was an ardent admirer of Rezo's superior psychic prowess, and desperate to improve his own meager abilities.
He'd had quite a shock when Grey approached him in town, but after the initial surprise it had been sickeningly easy to convince Dr. Parish that he was the real Rezo. Grey can only surmise that the man wants to believe too badly to let himself be properly suspicious. It had only taken a day for Grey to be invited to tour Parish's laboratory.
The lab's located on the grounds of a former Marquess's estate, a ways out of town and secluded by trees, a high wall, and a long drive. Grey's done a little recon before, but actually being here is different, especially since he has to navigate by cane at the moment. Grey is doing his best to politely nod and smile as Parish guides him from room to room, explaining their work and occasionally handing him things to examine himself.
But evidently Parish realizes that "Rezo" isn't entirely interested, because he stops partway through an explanation of some stem cell experiments he and a few others have been working on to say "Of course, the really interesting specimens are kept in the basement floor."
Grey already knows this. He hopes his expression seems the right sort of eager.]
Interesting?
["Something along the lines of what we did in the past. Would you like to see them?"]
Nothing would please me more.
[Grey can practically hear Parish's delighted grin. To soothe the surge of irritation, Grey reminds himself that he's going to kill this man before the end of the day and allows Parish to guide him out into the hall and to the basement entrance at the back of the building.]

Y-you okay? [as if he wasn't the one whose world was getting rocked this whole time. look - Grey's flushed, too! doesn't hurt to ask. also: talking about that can take the edge of the panic swelling up in him as Grey moves him.] Do I--um. What do you want me to do?
no subject
Fantastic.
[A muscle in Grey's jaw twitches. He feels very, very good, but in a way that's also a little painful. Needless to say the second question also takes some processing, during which he absently caresses Manabu's thigh.]
...What position would be most comfortable for you? Like this? Or would you prefer on my- sitting up again?
[Manabu can take "comfortable" however he will, whether in the physical sense of not agitating his tail or worn out muscles, or in the more emotional sense of not freaking him out too much.]
no subject
wincing:] Th, this is fine, I think, sorry... [if he wants to walk any time sooner rather than later, at least!]
no subject
We can always change positions if we need to.
[Having said that, Grey gives Manabu a very deliberate look over.]
But I quite like the view like this.
[Having seemingly settled the manner, Grey decides to proceed. He situates himself between Manabu's legs, carefully setting a hand partly under one of Manabu's buttocks for support. His other hand wraps around the base of his cock, and he eyes Manabu's ass. It's glistening with lube and still stretched out from the fingering he'd been doing only a minute ago.
Grey inches closer and begins pressing the head of his cock against the entrance.]
no subject
his hands curl into fistfuls of bedsheets at his sides as he feels the careful pressure coming on, determined to at least bear it for Grey's sake even if it winds up being unpleasant. the effect left behind is a very flustered and apprehensive Manabu, who will swiftly nod at any ask if he's okay...or just as quickly shake his head to any ask about stopping.]
no subject
Are you alright? Do I need to-?
[-but Manabu's very clear about not stopping despite the tension, so he must want this, right? Grey takes a breath.]
I'll go slowly.
[This might not be the best approach if what Manabu actually wants is to get it over with, but nevertheless Grey does as he says, slowly penetrating Manabu deeper. The ring of muscle wraps around the head of his cock and clings on, a tight sensation that slowly slides down his shaft as he inches forward, dragging a pleasured groan out of his throat.]
no subject
Nnh-- [the sensation of being penetrated triggers the reflex despite Manabu's best efforts, but Grey still pushes through and makes that alluring sound. Manabu bites his lip, toes curling, and makes himself exhale to ease some of that tension. he can't help the shiver, though.]
no subject
God.
[Grey forces his eyes open to get another look at Manabu. He still looks and feels tense. It makes Grey want to comfort him, but it's difficult when Grey also wants to fuck him senseless.
He leans forward and adjusts his grip, his right hand grabbing onto Manabu's hip, and he reaches out with his left to gently stroke Manabu's cheek.]
Just a bit further- hah- and I'll be entirely inside you.
[Grey's voice is a little shaky.]
no subject
entirely sounds insane, given Grey's...and he's...uh.
he licks at the lip he'd been biting down on, presses them together, then exhales.]
D-don't break anything down there, okay? [he's trying to be funny, but also. you know. he's also scared of getting his ass busted up here.]
no subject
Of course. And you'll tell me if it hurts?
[Or like. Yelp, at least. Not just grit his teeth and ignore it.]
no subject
no subject
Good.
[Grey punctuates this statement by leaning down enough to give Manabu's forehead a quick kiss. Then, he straightens a little and braces one hand on the mattress beside Manabu. He gazes down for a moment, and then slowly begins to rock his hips.
There's that tight, hot feeling again, and the more he moves his hips the harder it is to keep from moaning. Manabu's wrapped around his dick, clinging to it, and it's amazing- the feeling of it, and the knowledge that they're connected so intimately in this moment. Grey means to watch Manabu's expression as he moves but he can't stop his eyes from shutting again as he gets absorbed in the sensations.]
no subject
he can really have an effect on someone like this? and they, in turn, on him...]
no subject
It's such an unexpected thing for someone like him to be joined with someone like Manabu. But for the moment it feels good, fulfilling, even if he's not yet reached his own peak. He feels like a man with his lover, not an abomination wearing a thin disguise.]
no subject
to that end, he loses the last of his grip on any self-conscious sense, lost to how good the rhythm feels and how Grey's grunting and utterances of his name send chills up his spine. his back arches, feeling the overwhelm creeping back up on him from the repetition; his fingers clutch into tight fists on the bedding.]
no subject
A sense of satisfaction wells up in him when he feels the tension in Manabu's muscles as the other man arches, and Grey leans forward, lowering himself just a little above Manabu. His movements begin to speed up as he chases his high.]
no subject
i'm going crazy again, he thinks, his body bouncing against Grey's, heat rushing all throughout.]
no subject
He doesn't know what the tipping point is, but somewhere between his own frantic movements and Manabu's they reach a point where he bursts. He can't stop bucking his hips even as he feels like he's pouring everything into Manabu.]
Mmm-! Mana-! Oh God, Manabu!
no subject
it's all he can do to brace through it all, though the notion of touching Grey lingers; he just can't make his fists uncurl or elbows unlock from how they've stuck to endure it all.
the tingle of his own heat keeps him abuzz and just a little safe from complete incoherence - enough to look up and marvel at the state of Grey. it gives him a weird, humbling, aroused feeling he doesn't have a proper sense for.
he's calling for him.]
I-I'm here. Still.
no subject
[It takes a bit before Grey's movements slow down and, gradually, come more or less to a stop. Even then he's trembling, a satisfying buzz still lingering in his limbs and up and down his spine. It's going to take a little more time before he fully pulls himself together.
And. Manabu's here. It's nice to hear, even if it doesn't really need to be said with the way he's already enveloping most of Grey's senses. Still, Grey blinks hazy eyes a few times until Manabu's face comes into focus.
He looks distinctly rumpled. Grey probably is similarly disheveled.]
Manabu...
[Oh dear. He's beginning to sound like a broken record, isn't he. A soft, wry smile curves his lips.
I'm here. Still. So Manabu had said.]
Ever the steadfast officer, aren't you.
[Not the sort to run out, even when Grey is going mad taking his pleasure in Manabu's body.]
no subject
I'm...not really an officer right now...am I? [this isn't what officers do.]
no subject
No?
[Grey pulls back a little and sets his hands lightly on Manabu's chest. He can feel the thumping of Manabu's heart and the motions of Manabu's breathing.]
Just Manabu, then?
no subject
no subject
[Grey's voice is soft and, seeing that Manabu seems to enjoy the touching, he presses a little firmer against Manabu's chest and begins to caress him.
Although after a bit, a thought occurs to Grey.]
...One moment, please.
[As good as it feels to be inside Manabu, Grey probably shouldn't let himself get too soft in there. At least, not while he has the condom on. He moves back slowly, carefully pulling himself out of Manabu with a shudder.]
no subject
man, that's weird... weirder to think he liked it better on the way in than out? even so, it means he can move his legs without fear of disturbing Grey, getting both heels on the mattress to help him sit up a little, propping up on his elbows.]
...You okay?
